I was bitten by the glass bug over 15 years ago at a night class in Brighton, where I learned the methods of making traditional stained glass windows.
Glass fusing became my next obsession. It felt more malleable for my designs. With no local classes (Berkshire), and far away tuition costing as much as £150 for a day, I decided to collect as many books as possible, invest in a kiln and teach myself the art of kiln fusing glass. This involved plenty of trial, error and tears (cut fingers, unwanted bubbles and general disasters).
Despite having made hundreds of objects, I still get really excited when it’s time to open the kiln - especially when I’ve just completed a new design.
I hope my designs reflect both my love of animals and glass…
